Chaotic curiosity, rigorous engineering.
A Romanian network for hands-on engineering, in the public interest. Building the first open-access laboratory in Romania.
All open source.
200+
students taught directly by us. Either in bootcamps or in 1-on-1 trainings, we make sure our students receive the best learning experience every time.
1st
Romanian open source laboratory. The Alacrity Center for Culture & Technology is open-access. If you have a socially impactful tech idea, come build it here.
100%
dedicated to open source. Our courses and products serve the public. So we're putting the power over the product in public hands.

Alacrity AirBox V2
Romania has some of the worst urban air in Europe and almost no public data at street level. AirBox is our answer: an open-source monitor that tracks PM, CO₂, VOC, NOx, temperature and humidity, and reports them continuously. V2 runs on an ESP32-S2 with Sensirion sensors, and it's designed to be built by a teenager with a soldering iron. The board files, the firmware and the full course are open source, so any school, anywhere, can build its own node and put its own air on the map.

The Alacrity Center for Culture & Technology
The Alacrity Center for Culture & Technology is our home and pride. 130 square meters right in the center of Bucharest. It features en electronics & robotics facility, a classroom, reception and a neat little yard. This is where every one of our projects is born and where champions (like the robotics team we host) train their minds and sharpen their skills. All the equipment is open for everyone to use. Come to build or come to learn, you'll find us here.

Alacrity Airbox Bootcamp
Our flaghsip STEAM Bootcamp, teaching students everything they need to know, from the electron to the microcontroller, in order to design, build and assemble the Airbox V2 by themselves. Featuring Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Programming and Scientific Communication courses, all open access.
We are Alacrity Education
These are the people who make that happen. Students, researchers, engineers, teachers and professionals, most of us young enough to remember exactly how frustrating it is to want to build something and have nowhere to do it. So we became that community where innovation is born and we're building a space to go along with it.
